Okay, so I’m a little late getting our release day contest up, but with my home office in shambles and seven days to closing on the new house, hopefully everyone will cut me some slack. 
And speaking of cutting–yes! After the last post I went ahead and went for it! We are giving away a few things in honor of our latest release, but my favorite is this awesomely wicked looking replica knife, good for the next time you’re kidnapped by angry werewolves. (By which I mean to say–good for showing off?)
Mystical weaponry plays its part in the Red Rock Pass books, as witches and wizards have been at war with the werewolves for long enough that creating magical weapons meant to injure the wolves can be a profitable sideline.

My husband keeps telling me I don’t have what it takes to be a werewolf or vampire, I love them dearly but I guess it would have to be wizard.

I’m with the Weres all the way. Wizards still evoke images of Merlin for me… and that beard just doesn’t scream “sexy” the way a muscle-bound wolf-man does. And wow, is that knife hot or what!

It so hard to chose why can’t we have werewolve that’s also a wizard they best of both worlds. But if I had to choose I would go with havin magical powers I can find alot to do with those type of powers even transform into a werewolve. Lol
I’d go with werewolves; although Harry Potter has the happy wizard association I’m afraid too many other things have negative wizard-ness. I did grow up with Patricia C. Wrede’s dragon books.

Why do we have to choose before we get to see who has the best looking guys? I would prefer togo for the better looking of the two.

WOW, Moira, that is an awesome looking knife! I got my now 18-year old son collecting knives and swords years ago (out of my own interest in them). Right now I am taking an on-line writing course on “Surviving the Paranormal Investigation.” Would I like to have that knife with me to fend off any creatures of the night!
I will attempt to share the graphic on MYSpace, but as I’m not real technologically proficient, I’m not sure what will happen. Now as far as whose side I will be on . . . that’s a toughie. I love werewolves, BUT as some people would consider me a heretic i.e. witch, I’d have to take the side of the wizards and witches. So that knife would come in real handy next time I hear howling outside my bedroom window.

Not something I have given a whole lot of thought to, but considering the newer viewpoints of the werewolf culture, I would probably go with the werewolves. After all, since there is a certain pack mentality in virtually any group, it is probably best to have it organized. And besides, wizards seem to frequently be rather lonely.

I’d go for the weres because – pun intended – they’re the underdogs. Plus they’re majorly bad ass creatures and I love the whole idea of living in a pack like that. Even if you’re not related by blood, you’re family.
Not to say that wizards don’t have anything going for them, because they do, but my heart was given to a werewolf before I could give it to a wizard.

Werewolves or Wizards? Well it really depends on who the good guys are. But if I was picking just based on a species I liked best, I’d take the werewolves. Why? Well I always feel the were’s get less respect then many of the other paranormals. And me, I always root for the under-dog.

I would definitely have to say werewolves. I love me some Alpha males. Some of my favorites are Kelley Armstrong’s Otherworld series, Kitty Norville by Carrie Vaughn and Patricia Briggs Mercy series.

I prefer magic over might, but in a fight…. I guess it would depend on the fierceness and numbers of the werewolves compared to the magical strength and numbers of the wizards. As long as I don’t already share an alliegance with either of them, I prefer to fight on the side I believe to win. On the other hand, if I knew nothing of either or if they were equal… I like the idea of a Wizard better. With the right knowledge of magic, a wizard would be able to replicate the strength of the wolf as well as all the other spells at their disposal.
