Good News & Thursday Thirteen

Posted on May 22, 2008 by

We have some good news to top off our Thursday Thirteen: we’ve received and accepted our contract for the first Red Rock Pass story, CRY SANCTUARY.

CRY SANCTUARY is a category-length urban fantasy novel with a strong helping of romance mixed in. It will be going to Samhain Publishing, and our editor has encouraged us to get going with the sequel, which will follow closely on the heels of the first one and involve most of the same major players.

We’re feeling icky and tired today, but as of today we have six contracted works, which means six heroes and six heroines. So today we’re going to offer one random fact about each of our heroes and heroines (plus an extra one for Claire since she’s the heroine of our free read Faking Human).

  • Claire from MOONSHINE/FAKING HUMAN has extremely rich parents, but they all but cut her off financially when she chose to turn down offers from Ivy League schools and go to Mystic Ridge University.
  • Lars from MOONSHINE steals cable just so he can watch the Food Network.
  • Seth from WITHOUT BORDERS wanted to be a cowboy when he grew up, but joined the Army out of high school because of a disagreement with his family.
  • Gretchen from WITHOUT BORDERS can’t sing. She thinks she can…but she can’t.
  • Kelly from THE FAMILY LEGEND wants to go to Graceland more than any place else in the world.
  • Raul from THE FAMILY LEGEND likes bubble baths. Preferably with a chick.
  • Ella from THE THIRTEENTH STEP tells everyone she was one of Queen Elizabeth’s ladies in waiting, but she was actually a chambermaid. It was much less glamorous than it looks in the movies.
  • Blake from THE THIRTEENTH STEP has a not-so-secret inferiority complex when it comes to his superbrainy older brother, Adam.
  • Addie from UNDER THE MAGNOLIA watches Ghost Hunters religiously.
  • Wes from UNDER THE MAGNOLIA is addicted to video games. He says they’re good for his coordination and reflexes, but he just likes them.
  • Abby from CRY SANCTUARY dances on tables and takes off her shirt when she gets drunk. That’s why she doesn’t get drunk.
  • Keith from CRY SANCTUARY loves to play Monopoly.
  • Claire from FAKING HUMAN/MOONSHINE would kick Keith’s ass at Monopoly, if they ever played.
