My life in pictures – zomg kittens edition.
Tiny kitten is judging you.
So yesterday, my husband decided he wanted to be a big damn hero. (At least in the eyes of everyone who loves men who rescue small kittens from brambles while being stung by bees.) Someone dumped a bunch of kittens in our neighborhood, and hubby tracked down a foster home for them, then gallantly went forth to rescue them. He brought them in one at a time, and it was my job to feed them & try to keep them out of trouble until we had them all rounded up.
Boy, that was an adventure.
It wasn’t so bad when there was just one. She was pretty cute.
And she quickly discovered a place that she was okay hanging out, and stayed there without much trouble. She even let me keep working.
This little guy, however, was not quite as content to sit quietly. I mean, he would while I was taking his picture. But when I wasn’t, he did stuff like this:
Yes, the second kitten wanted to join the first one. And he managed it:
And then the third one showed up, and I couldn’t take pictures anymore because they outnumbered me 3 to 1 and it GOT CRAZY UP IN HERE. Also, I have some battle wounds.
But! The kittens are safely fostered, and life is awesome. Yay!
There are only two non-kitten related pictures:

As good as the hummus was, I ate the baklava first.
This picture is actually from a few weeks ago. Somehow someone on twitter questioned how I had six kindles. I do! Three of them are for a fun thing we’re doing this summer with a few bloggers. The other three belong to Viv Arend, who bought them at the same time I got my three–when Woot was having a big sale on refurbished kindles. So my giant shelf of promo crap has six kindles. (But in July & August, we’re going to give away three!)
And there you have it. Bree’s life in pictures.

I am not a cat person (way too allergic) but the kitten that tweeted…I am a little bit in love. That face. Those eyes. The tweeting ability. Thanks for sharing. And a Kindle contest, you say?
Yes, there will be much excitement this summer. For details, check out the sidebars at smexybooks.com, fictionvixen.com or thebookpushers.com
Both of them are cute, but the black & white one melts my heart.
He was pretty adorable.
Your husband IS a big damn hero for battling brambles to get those kittens out of there:) Hopefully he won’t get a big head. (*snicker*) The black and white one has a downright evil look on it’s face:)
Our garage, which is large, is a magnet for stray cats, which means we have a lot of kittens. We had one, Miss Smittens, which we found a home for a couple weeks ago. Lo and Behold, we now have three more. My daughter has named them Percy and Annabeth, except the smallest one she calls “The Small One”. Okay then…
Hubby was very pleased with himself, but I let him be. Because of the bee stings! I’m allergic to bees, so I find that whole thing very traumatic. LOL
And awwwww! Stray kittehs!
Oh they are CUTE!
Our husbands need to hang out and rescue endangered kitties! Mine went fishing (catfishing ironically enough) last weekend & brought home 4 kittens because mom had been hit by a car. We couldn’t find a foster mama cat, so we’re bottle feeding them every 3-4 hours. They’re about 3 weeks old now and in a box where my THREE adult cats can’t get to them. Yes, 7 cats are residing in my home at the moment LOL I”m a total cat person, but this seems a little excessive
Your hubby is a total hero! It takes a real man to save kittens
Awwww! Tiny baby kitties! Good for your husband…but 7 cats! EEEK!
Yes, we had 4 cats already, so while rescuing the three & feeding them was okay, KEEPING them was not.
aaawwwwwwwww
I want another kitty now!
If only I wasn’t renting.
You can look at the pictures vicariously like I’m doing! (I really wanted to keep them. If only I had more space!)
VERY CUTE!!!!
I agree.
I think black kitty on the second pic looks like the impersonation of an Evil character in a book/movie. I think it’s the whiskers + the look of contempt that led me to this conlusion
Awesome! Thanks for sharing the kitten cuteness. Oooh, Kindles, books, ah, sweet heaven.
Y’know, I might actually like my cats if they were anywhere near that cute.
