In the tradition of our Vampire Lumberjack/Werewolf Bootlegger contest, we’re back with another kindle adventure where the bloggers get to find the winner–and maybe win something themselves.

The Whats & Whys

Today is the release of Wilder’s Mate, the first story in our new Bloodhounds series. Set in an alternate Wild West, the Bloodhounds books have monstrous heroes, evil vampires, gunslinger adventures and a few mad scientists. It’s a lot paranormal, a little bit steampunk (or gaslight, if you prefer) and a whole lot dirty. Adults only, please!

While we could just hold another contest on our blog, it’s a lot more fun to get a little audience participation. So instead of entering the contest by commenting on our blog, we’re going to send you kindle-seekers on a Wild Web Adventure to visit our participating bloggers. Commenting on their posts gets you a chance to enter! (And you might just discover a new blog or three along the way.)

Of course, if you’re a blogger (or an author or reader with a blog), you can participate, too! Follow the instructions below to set up a contest on your blog, and then make sure to come back and leave a comment so I can add you to the list!

The Hows

Step One: Bloggers/Authors/Journalers Only

Since the contest is almost over, I’m disabling the join part. Skip to step two, now!

Host a contest! At the end of this post, you’ll find graphics and code. You can copy the code as-is, or tweak it, as long as you leave the text and disclaimers intact. (The HTML code will work on many blogging platforms, but only if you enter it into the HTML screen, not a rich-text or visual editor!)

Important: Once you’ve made your post, come back here and leave a comment with a link. That’s important for step two! Because we’re going to be sending a lot of kindle seekers your way!

Step Two: Everyone

As people leave comments, I’ll be updating this post with a list of participating blogs. Visit other people’s posts and enter the contests! Not only will you get a chance to visit different blogs, but the more blogs you visit, the better your chances of winning.

Step Three: VICTORY!

On March 31st, I’ll make a list of all of the blogs and how many comments are on each one, and use a random drawing to pick one comment to win the kindle.

The owner of the blog holding the winning comment will also get a $50 gift certificate to the online bookseller of their choice. (If the winning comment belongs to the blog owner, a second random number will be picked to decide an alternate blogger for the $50 prize.)

If we end up with 50 or more participating bloggers, we’ll add a second kindle prize to increase chances of winning. The second winner will be picked in the same fashion, with a second $50 gift certificate going to the blog owner of the second winning comment.

Winners will be announced on the blog during the first weeks of April, and contacted via e-mail.
