I have 2 questions! Will Kat be getting her own book? And will we see more of Veronica?

  2. Mara says:

I second the vote for more Veronica. She intrigued me :)

  3. Donna says:

@Lillie: Kat will definitely have her own book. :D

@Lillie & Mara: As for Veronica, book 3 may result in her moving to New Orleans to play a much larger part in the happenings there.

  4. is there hope that Michelle will fall in love again in the future????

  5. *sob* Michelle *sob* That is all.

  6. Donna says:

Michelle will find love again, perhaps in the least likely place of all. But, for now, she needs to be a mommy.

  7. Sayuri_x says:

When are we getting Kat & Andrews book?

Have we met Alec’s herione (spit..Just so I can get the hit out on her..) or is she new to the series (I hate her already)?

Yay to more Michelle. *happy dance*

How many books are you planning in the series?

Are we going to get more political machinations a la Melanie Rawn in further books (cause you know I love that!) ?

I have plenty more questions but I’ll let someone else have a turn.

  8. Donna says:

@Sayuri: Kat’s book will be coming up soon, we promise.

And no, Alec’s heroine is safe from your contract killers at the moment. We won’t meet her until the beginning of her book.

Michelle will be very busy! She’ll have a newborn when the third book opens…

We’ll write as many books as our editor will buy!

And if political machination is your thing, you should love the next few books. ;)

  9. Sharon M says:

What does “Michelle will find love again, perhaps in the least likely place of all” mean? Like you’re going to tell me. ;-) *snort* I just want to know if she eventually learns to love Luke and appreciate him.

Is Alec’s first love still alive? He’s obviously loved and lost but I was wondering if he lost her to politics or if she died.

Does Veronica buy the bar from Nick?

I noticed you mentioned that we will be getting Kat’s book but is it Kat and Andrew’s book or just Kat’s?

    • Bree says:

I just want to know if she eventually learns to love Luke and appreciate him.

All I can say is that Alec may have reason to visit Wyoming during DEADLOCK, so I’m sure you’ll see how Luke is doing. (Alec’s related to Luke’s cook, remember!)

Is Alec’s first love still alive? He’s obviously loved and lost but I was wondering if he lost her to politics or if she died.

The answer to this lies in CRUX. When Jackson & Mackenzie are in the hotel together, he tells her about Alec’s wife–who was a human. He lost her to politics AND she died.

Does Veronica buy the bar from Nick?

      Nope.

I noticed you mentioned that we will be getting Kat’s book but is it Kat and Andrew’s book or just Kat’s?

We DID mention that! Magic-8 ball says…ask again after DEADLOCK.

  10. Donna says:

@Sharon M: Michelle has already fallen in love–with her little man. She’s going to be solely devoted to the mommy thing for a while, and then…we’ll see. ;)

Alas, Alec’s wife is very. very dead. But his book is next, so we’ll see what happens this time around.

Nick might be selling her bar, but not to Veronica. Veronica’s going to be a little more involved in politics than she thought she’d be…

And Kat’s book is…Kat’s book. Sometimes we just don’t know what’s going to shake out until we start writing. :D

  11. Donna and Bree – don’t make me hurt you! :p

A better way of asking my previous question …. in Southern Arcana world…. is a mate a one and only mate type of deal? anyone who follows is loved, but not the same thing? or does having a mate once not affect whether you can find that again?

    Andrew’s book. hmph. lol

    • Bree says:

or does having a mate once not affect whether you can find that again?

Oooh, this reminds me. We have a deleted scene to post that involves this. :D But to answer your question–no, mates are not all or nothing in Southern Arcana. The mating urge is part chemistry, part instinct and part magic–but the matings that last are the ones where you’ve got all that with someone you really like. Otherwise you might have the world’s hottest affair with someone you can’t stand to look at, which probably won’t last forever. ;) (Veronica knows about that!)

  12. Donna says:

@Tiffany: Oh, hell no. Bree and I don’t do the “one true mate” thing. If someone loses a mate, that doesn’t mean they’ll never find a love like that again. Not at all.

    Andrew’s book. HMPH. LOL

  13. note to self, start sending Bree & Donna chocolate in an attempt at bribery.

  14. note to self, start sending cupcakes to Bree & Donna in an attempt at bribery.

  15. hmmm i seem to be so frazzled by the thought of Alec/Derek/Andrew in the woods naked together (still) that I forgot i already posted about bribery.

  16. Bree says:

Mmmm, I see chocolate cupcakes in my future.

  17. Spav says:

Are we going to see more of mama Holt?
Are there more shapeshifters species that we haven’t seen?
Can you explain in a little more detail what happens when a psychic discovers his powers? Why does the age matter?
How does the alpha of a pack get chosen?
    How many packs are there?
When did John Peyton realized that Michelle was a Seer?
What are the differences between a born and a made shapeshifter?
Can Mackenzie transform a human into a shapeshifter too?

I think those are all my questions, lol.

  18. Donna says:

    Mwahahaha. Ahem.

Are we going to see more of mama Holt?

Indeed, we will. I’m not sure when events will bring her back to New Orleans, but she’ll be around.

Are there more shapeshifters species that we haven’t seen?

There are several. We have a story in this fall’s Mammoth Book of Paranormal Romance 2 that will feature two lion shifters. There are other large cats, and maybe some other creatures… :D

Can you explain in a little more detail what happens when a psychic discovers his powers? Why does the age matter?

We tend to think of it like an innate talent that you can either develop or let languish. Like, say, playing the piano. You can be naturally talented, start lessons when you’re young and practice a lot. You’ll get good. Likewise, if you never study or wait until you’re older, you may never be that great.

Only now imagine that instead of tickling the ivories, you hear other people’s thoughts–all the time. If you don’t learn how to control that, it can drive you nutballs in real short order.

How does the alpha of a pack get chosen?

In the good old days? He was the baddest, buffest fighter. These days, maybe he’s the richest or smartest. John Peyton got to be the Alpha of the US wolves because he’s kinda got all those bases covered.

    How many packs are there?

There’s the Conclave, and the regional councils that comprise its membership. Each council has packs which report to it–anywhere from a dozen to a hundred, and packs can be two or three wolves, or twenty.

Of course, those are just the official packs. No one knows how many well-behaved but essentially rogue packs there are.

When did John Peyton realized that Michelle was a Seer?

They knew very soon after she was born. If he hadn’t been so insanely protective of her already, she might not have lived.

What are the differences between a born and a made shapeshifter?

Practically, none. They’re magically identical. The differences are mostly social, or problems of adjustment. It’s a big, big change to go through, and not everyone manages to make it.

Can Mackenzie transform a human into a shapeshifter too?

No. Only wolves can do that, for reasons still widely unknown. (Jackson and Mahalia uncovered a bit of it in Crux, though.) Charles Talbot’s plot involving Mackenzie and Marcus should have resulted in a child with the ability to transform humans into shapeshifters, but that didn’t work out. ;)
