Where are all my Anne Bishop fangirls at?
My name is Bree, and I’m an Anne Bishop junkie. I’ve been buying her books on release day since Queen of Darkness and I’m not sure anything short of having her show up at my house and set my cats on fire could make me stop. That’s eleven years of hardcore fangirl dedication I’ve got going there!
And I know from my last posts and some twitter conversations that I’m not the only one. So come on, Anne Bishop fanatics…get on out here and show your love! I’ve been thinking about having another read through the trilogy, just because it’s been almost a year since I read them, and with the holidays and deadlines it can be easier for me to reread an old favorite than dive in to a new book. (Because I don’t sleep when I read new books, but at least I can put down a book when I know what’s coming! …err, sometimes.)
So who’s with me? Who wants to reread? Who wants to read for the first time? Who wants to just talk to me while I reread? Really, I’m looking for all answers here, but mostly I just want to have a chance to get my fangirl squee on.
Starting now. Come on, everyone…tell me who your favorite characters in the Black Jewels books are! My favorite dude is Lucivar, my favorite chick is Surreal and my favorite romance is Lucivar & Marian’s story in Dream’s Made Flesh.

Ironically, I just read the trilogy for the first time and finished it this Sunday! It’s amazing, fantastic, and epic; it’s so original and filled with rich, vivid detail that really brings it to life in your mind. I love how her world isn’t like any others I’ve ever read, and how she has such a novel and well-realized system of magic. In short, I’m in love. Now I need more that good!
As for characters, Saetan is my favorite male, Karla my favorite female. I totally want more Karla.
If I can find it at the ubs today, I’ll read it with you. This will be my first time..not only with the trilogy but w/ AB period.
I don’t even know how to narrow down my favorite characters! I love them all so much. I love the way AB infuses everything with wit and humor, even though there’s so much dark and awful stuff going on.
I wish I had time to reread, but I’m always happy to squee!
I haven’t read anything by Anne Bishop but I hear wonderful things about her books. I suppose I should add her to my “I’m Gonna Start This Series In 2010″ list.

@PattI: Yes, you must give her a try! Her books are not to everyone’s tastes, but those who love her seem to be pretty devoted.
