Top Six Contest Day One: Ebooks

Top Six Things Required To Live In The Middle Of NowhereDAY One: Ebooks!

That’s right! If you’re going to live in the middle of nowhere, you need ebooks! You know why Sanctuary's Priceyou need ebooks? Because you’re in the middle of nowhere and man, it is a pain in the ass to go trucking off to the neighborhood bookstore every time you get a craving for a book. Your neighborhood bookstore could be an hour away, and while I advocate reading, that’s a two hour round trip you could be using to read! Obviously instant gratification is the way to go.

Red Rock is in the middle of nowhere. What sucks the most about their town, though, (aside from the fact that people are always gettin’ all up in there trying to kill you) is that the human world has a tendency to forget they’re even there, thanks to all the spells.

A healthy amount of cash keeps the power going and the phone lines running in and out, but Sam and Gavin, Red Rock’s intrepid alphas, were born in a time The Little Thingsbefore easy internet access. Most of the time they don’t entirely understand why dial-up isn’t perfectly sufficient for all of Red Rock’s internet needs.

(Of course, if you really need to download something fast, you can always go to Keith’s place. Just don’t spread that around, it’s a little bit illegal.)

So today, in honor of the glory of ebooks, a few awesome authors have agreed to share the wealth. No trekking into civilization for these books, they arrive in your inbox in all their paranormal glory! So take a look at the awesome offerings of Vivian Arend, Eliza Gayle and Keith Melton, and make sure to comment for your chance to win all three books!

Robyn Maxwell doesn’t care that her brother has to cancel out on their backcountry ski trip. She can do it alone. Wolf SignsThe fact she’s deaf doesn’t make her survival skills any weaker. The chance to get away from it all and relax in the Yukon wilderness is just what she’s been craving.
Meeting wilderness guide Keil at the cabin starts cravings of another kind. Keil’s one hot hunk of ripped, tasty male. Now she has to deal with raging hormones as well as strange questions about wolves and mates and challenges to the death.
Keil was trying for a nice reflective retreat before challenging for the Alpha position of his Alaskan pack. He wasn’t planning on meeting the woman destined to be his mate, or finding out she’s not aware she has the genes of a wolf.
Between dealing with his accident-prone younger brother, a deaf mate with an attitude and an impending duel to the death, his week—and his bed—is suddenly full.
Far from the relaxing getaway any of them had in mind…
When Jayde returns to Hickory Falls to settle her grandmother’s estate she finds a mystery and a destiny she’s not sure she wants. It starts with anObsession of Jayde antique puzzle box with a necklace and a note that only says Beware of the Obsession. It also includes a bakery everyone is anxious to see reopened despite her inability to cook, and a pair of hunky, too-good-to-be-true tenants living in the same building.
Marc and Anthony are lovers waiting on their third to complete them, the Guardian they have sworn to protect. When Jayde finally arrives they are anxious to get her into their bed…until they see the necklace around her neck. It serves a powerful warning to them — and to her if she knows what it means. Now they have to take things slow, seducing her before they reveal the duty she has been called for.
When the Guardian denies her calling, the protectors will do anything in their power to convince her, but in the end it has to be her choice. Free will is a bitch, but so is their obsession with Jayde.
Leah Kendrick is guilty of only one crime: loving her Run Wolf human mate, Tom, enough to give him the gift of The Bite. The Pack council is merciless, and the punishment swift. In an instant everything she’s ever known is ripped away, and they’re turned out into the long winter with nothing. No money, no car, and no protection from a variety of creatures who’d like nothing more than to take down a lone wolf.
Friendless and broke, they form a daring plan to take back what’s theirs and chase safety north. But the Pack has other ideas. And with time running out it’s about to call their bluff…

This is a tough question–I’d have a very hard time choosing just one favorite, but maybe one of the most memorable was Deidre Knight’s Butterfly Tattoo. Such richly drawn characters, with a story that really lingered long after I’d finished reading.

  2. Anna Shah Hoque says:

Oh Moira that’s a pretty difficult question! Does it really have to be one? :( Okay…hmm…Passionate Realities by Nicole Austin.

    Happy Reading!!!

  3. Pamk says:

My favorite ebook would have to be first one. I read Jaid Black The Empress new clothes and absolutely fell in love with ebooks and that trek series in particular. I went and over the course of two weeks bought all her trek books and all Lora Liegh’s breeds and read them. My husband was very appreciative and he still ask from time to time in I’m reading one of “those” books rofl.

  4. Lexee Toste says:

This is really hard for me to answer. I gues I would have to say that the favorite ebook that I have read would be Conn’n'Caleb by Ciana Stone.

  5. Capella says:

My favorite ebook (and this is cheating a little) is “Rihannsu: The Bloodwing Voyages” by Diane Duane and Peter Morwood. (But if you want me to pick 1 book of the 4 contained within, it’s definitely 2, The Romulan Way.)

It’s an ebook compilation of the first 4 Rihannsu Star Trek novels by Diane Duane. The thing is, despite my huge Trek novel geekery, I had never before laid my hands on any of these Romulan novels! I was blown away by the attention to cultural and linguistic detail that dovetailed nicely with great plot and rich characters. I like THIS portrayal of the Romulans a hell of a lot better than anything we got from TNG on.

I can’t believe I only found these books now! I wish I’d read these Trek novels as a kid. Then I might not have lost faith in the novel line until this year. >.>

  6. Tracey D says:

Gee, that’s a really hard question to answer. I have enjoyed so many ebooks….But I mus say my favorite is Fatal Shadows by Josh Lanyon. This book introduced me to the Adrien English mystery series. After reading this book, I was hooked!

    Thanks!

  7. I read Karen Marie Monings Darkfever (Kindle version) and I LOVED it! Plus I’ve read lots of Moira Rogers stuff especially the Red Rock Pass series. That’s more than one isn’t it? I’m such a rebel.

  8. Billi Jean says:

My favorite ebook? Geesh…uh…almost all of them! Okay, uh…I will go with recently read ebooks, so that would be Lora Leigh’s Elizabeth’s Wolf.

  9. Karin says:

Oh my goodness, this is a really hard question to answer. I’ve enjoyed almost all of the ebooks I’ve read. There has only been one or two that I didn’t really like. If I had to pick a favorite, though, I’d have to go with CRUX by Moira Rogers. There are a lot of others that are right up there as well, but since you asked for one, that’s what you got. lol

  10. Ladygoshawk says:

Moira Rogers was my first eBook, and frankly, that first one is what got me *into* eBooks in the first place. It was “Cry Sanctuary”, and since I have a werewolf fascination, I’ve been hooked ever since. So there you have it!

  11. Cathy M says:

My first and all time favorite ebook is still Elizabeth’s Wolf by Lora Leigh. She hooked me on erotic romances, shifters and ebooks all in one swoop. Now I buy 90% of my books in electronic fomat and take my reader with me whenever I leave the house.

  12. Gosh that’s a tough one….I can’t narrow it down to just one, so I am going to go with three…first was The Reluctant Dom by Tymber Dalton, the second was Rocky Mountain Heat by Vivian Arend, and the third is the entire Rough Riders series by Lorelei James (since they all feature the same family members I feel that I can name them all as just one pick)

I love ebooks! And while I am relatively new to them I have found soooo many great authors and novels to read that I would have missed out on otherwise.

  13. Deidre says:

The first ebook I ever bought was A Delicious Taboo by Jennifer Cole. It was a very erotic book with the undertones that all women go through of self-esteem and self-love. I loved it!

    Deidre

  14. jennifer mathis says:

it would have to be Scent of a Vampire by Jude Stephens cause thats the only one i have read :(

  15. Wendy says:

I honestly don’t normally read e-books, I don’t have an e-reader and plus I love having an actual book in my hands! :)

  16. Paula says:

ONE favorite ebook? How can I pick just one…
Morgan Hawke’s Victorious Star (or the whole series, actually) was memorable. Some elements that are usually so wrong are right thanks to the writing.

  17. Nancy Gilliland says:

If I can only choose one ebook, althoughI love every book I read, the one I have read more than once ( so I guess that makes it my favorite) is Very Much Alive by Dana Marie Bell (although I am getting ready to reread the Temple of Luna: Savage Need-love that one too)

  18. T. says:

You want me to pick a favorite? Oh man! I don’t know. I love Witches Anonymous, When the Ocotillo Bloom, and Without Regret My Love (as well as so many more). Killing me here. I just can’t pick one. Too many talented, wonderful authors out there writing exceptional stories for us to enjoy. Sorry. T. :)

  19. Sarah Ulfers says:

My favorite e book so far is Go Fetch by Shelly Laurenston. I was having a really bad day and the caricature just cracked me up.

  20. Patti says:

I really enjoyed LB Gregg’s Gobsmacked (it was also my first m/m romance!) and also I really enjoyed your book Crux!

  21. Jen Ring says:

That question is much harder than one would think. I have so, so many favorites. If I had to choose a favorite ebook today, it’ll have to be my most recent favorite which is Confessions of a Submissive by Claire Thompson. Even if I went thru my entire list of favorites this book would still be in the top 5, so it’s a good choice anyway.

    Thanks,

  22. Melissa Conatser says:

Oh my gosh! I don’t know how to pick just one favorite! Hmmm, I guess I will have to go with The Reluctant Dom by Tymber Dalton. I really wish we could pick more than one, but then I would have a whole list.

    Melissa

  23. Ali says:

Lora Leigh actually got me into ebooks first… I read Marly’s Choice in print, and the first one I read as an ebook was her title, Tempting the Beast.

  24. Anna Shah Hoque says:

Oh crap! I forgot to mention that I already have Wolf Signs. It was an awesome read!!!

    Happy Reading!!!

  25. Andrea says:

Wow! One book! I don’t know if I can do that. I think I’d have to say the first one I ever read because without it I never would’ve started reading e-books. That book was Bending to Break by AJ Hampton.

  26. Lindsey Ekland says:

I love a lot of ebook authors but my continuing favoite book is Midnight reborn by D. McIntire about vampires in Tennessee. Sweet and funny and hot all at once.

  27. Kimmy L says:

Deep Kiss of Winter by Kresley Cole & Gena Showalter

  28. Brandy says:

My favourite ebook is Nightwalker by Jocelynn Drake. I had never read her boosk before and I absolutely loved it.

I do also love all Moira Rogers ebooks! own them all.

  29. Ali says:

My favorite ebook is still Colters’ Woman by Maya Banks :)

  30. Nancy Gilliland says:

Usually, my favorite ebook is the one I’m currently reading. But the one I have read over and over is Dana Marie Bell’s Very Much Alive. Runner up for most reads-Temple of Luna Savage Possession-can’t recall the author right now.

  31. Miranda says:

My fav ebook is actually a whole series: Tri-Omega Mates by Stormy Glen. It is a bit on the erotica side but the stories are so sweet and full of emotion!

I did a quick review of the series too.

  32. Eva S says:

I love ebooks, but if I have to choose one favorite it’s J.L.Langley’s My Fair Captain

  33. Kimberley C says:

I’ve only read 1 and that was Full Moon Rising by Keri Author.

I read on my computer and have to wait my turn…Just got a laptop and now will be able to enjoy e-books more readily. I am running out of room with my paperbacks (almost 3000 in my collection) and feel that it is now time for an e-book collection. (easier to store) and I would love to begin my library with these books….they have caught my attention and I want to read them now!!!!

  34. Gayle O says:

I have read so many e books that it is hard to just pick one. I bought myself a Kindle for Mother’s Day and had saved for a year to get it. I just love it. Then I showed my mother it. She also fell in love. I guess I have to say Stuart Woods new book that came out over the summer. My mother could not believe that I could get the book instantly. When I got it for her, she read it right away. Watching her find such joy brought me happiness. I do not read that genre of book, mine are all romance, contempary romance, and erotic romance… etc… but that had to be the best book I ever got in e book format.
I am now saving to gift her with a Kindle of her own. She did not want to give me mine back when she went home after the summer was over.

  35. Beverly G says:
