Excitement!

Well, there is excitement in the air this weekend. Our lovely editor at Samhain Publishing has offered a contract for Crux, which is the book formerly known as The Big Easy.
It’s a full length Romantic Urban Fantasy and an introduction to the elaborate world that we constructed in our heads over months of time. It has a very strong cast of secondary characters, many of whom have their own books in store some day down the line.
This will make us pretty busy with Samhain Publishing. We have finished the second Red Rock book, but there are 4 more to go before we’ve finished the series. And at the moment the New Orleans books don’t have a set number, though we have ideas and characters for at least four more. Those are full length books, however, 90-100k each, where as the Red Rock books run 45-55k.
Either way, we’re going to be busy.
We still owe Changeling a few more books as well, and have a short novel to finish up for Cobblestone Press. And Donna came up with a fabulous idea for an Urban Fantasy that we’re going to mull over and possibly write…VERY different from anything else we’ve done.
It will be a dark, gritty Urban Fantasy told in first person POV…but with a Hero and a Heroine. And not necessarily a Hero and a Heroine who are going to end up happily ever after…with each other.
This book would probably be hard to market to most of our romance e-publishers, so I suppose it will be The Book that finally forces us to consider that most terrifying quest of all…the quest for an agent.
But luckily we don’t have to worry about that until we write it! And right now we’ve got a lot on our plate, including the Down & Dirty trilogy, a Last Call Christmas Short, the 3rd Red Rock book and the sequel to Crux.
This is why I need a very complicated To-Do list.
