Geeks in Love
Today is my fourth wedding anniversary, so I am absolutely hijacking the blog to talk about my hubby, the tolerant man who puts up with me working two jobs and writing on top of it because he knows I have a dream.
We have 2 “anniversaries” that we celebrate. January 1st is the day we started dating. We went to a New Year’s party together, and hubby drove me home (back to Donna’s house, in fact, as I was living with her at the moment) and gave me New Years smoochies and asked me to “do this a lot, maybe formally like a dating thing” which was the perfect thing to say, in my opinion.
That was 7 1/2 years ago. People were making jokes about us getting married 2 weeks later, because we never really looked back after that first kiss.
And in this new cyber age, I have a record of it. I had a livejournal before I met my husband, so the entire relationship is journaled, from my giddiness over my first kiss, to my terror that I was thinking about the L word three weeks after meeting this man, straight on to the proposal (he proposed to me in the receiving room at a Barnes & Noble where I worked) and through 2 years of living together while we planned for our wedding.
It’s nice, being able to go back on this day and see how giddy my 21 year old counter-part was to have fallen in love. And 7 1/2 years later, on this when I’m officially 4 years married, I’m going to leave you with a quote from 2001-Bree.
My boy is so cute. He bought me the Legolas action figure last night, so I got to run around and use the Action Knife Chopping on people.
Ahhh, Geeks In Love.
We really are our own species.
Now I may still be sick, but I think it’s time to go kiss my geek.
