We’re down to SEVEN WEEKS until the new Sanctuary book is out, and I figured maybe it’s time to talk about it a little.  (Crazy idea, huh? )  We’re finishing off the sequel right now and getting it all cleaned up for our editor, so I keep forgetting that you guys don’t know who X and X are because you haven’t even met Jay and Eden yet!  (Resisting the urge to tweet spoilery hints has been OH SO HARD.)

So, for those of you who are new, the Sanctuary books start with the Red Rock Pass series, which came out in 2008 & 2009.  These are 4 category length novels (each around 45-50k) and each focusing on one couple, though they form a complete story arc.

The fourth book, Sanctuary Unbound, introduced a vampire who had undergone a painful tragedy in the 1930s.  While finishing the story, we got interested enough in the backstory to go back and write a prequel novella about two of his oldest friends.  That and one sequel made up our Bootlegging Werewolves on an Island duet of novellas:

Since then, we’ve been trying to figure out when the next Sanctuary story would take place.  We’ve always wanted to return to the world, but none of the ideas we came up with felt right.  For a couple years we mused over it, talking about different ideas with our editor.  Once or twice we even started books, but we were trying too hard and the story never came…

…until this time last year, when it slammed into us out of nowhere.

Green Pines has werewolves and witches. And ghosts, both literal and metaphorical.  Everyone in this new series is haunted by something, and all of them are haunted by someone–or someones.    Book one comes out on January 22nd and book two, Haunted Wolves (cover coming soon!) will be out in July.
